L'APARADOR (the SHOP WINDOW)

The aparador is a generic title of a series of exhibits conceived to occupy a space, half-public, half-private, in the Abelló Museum in Mollet del Vallès. A shop window is hybrid space, closed yet open, intimate yet extrovert, ideal for setting up cultural events. This series of exhibits put together the maximum number of activities related to today’s contemporary culture: music, photography, language at home, fashion, plastic arts. It expressed a tiny fragment of our young, creative culture and dynamized interactivity between creative groups and different artists.

The idea of this collection of proposals was to let people get to know us a little more, to see the cultural diversity surrounding our current reality all together and so, based on these little bits, create links or break them, compare, separate, add, detract, contemplate and distinguish, beyond snobbery which sometimes swaddles the world of art.

The aparador is conceived as a space to get close, as if it were our own home. A place where we find something that makes us reminisce or something that is useful to us.
