Abelló in the Polynesia
with texts by Aurora Bertrana and Josep Maria de Sagarra

12th July 2007 – 14th October 2007
The exhibition is mainly focused on works undertaken during his stay in the Polynesia during the 90’s with his friend Sardà. As of this moment the works of Abelló take on a new richness in world colours.
The exhibition is presented along with a selection of texts written by Aurora Bertrana and Josep Maria Sagarra during their stay in the Polynesia, illustrating Abelló’s canvases.

Dau al Set
within the background of the Abelló Museum

An exhibition commissioned by Arnau Puig on the backgrounds of the so-called Dau al Set group, of which painters Joan Ponç, Antoni Tàpies, Modest Cuixart, Joan-Josep Tharrats and poet Joan Brossa, were all plastic components.
Due to Abelló’s curiosity, interest and collection efforts the museum has a considerable amount of their works since the beginning.
The exhibition also showed Joan Abelló’s contemporary works on the facts, which show the connections with the actions of the Dau al Set members and a panoramic view of the artists that even though being contemporaries of the group members, due to physical personal encounter matters and given the difficulties to connect under those circumstances, could not become part of the group despite being innovative creators.

Humberto Rivas
Huellas

13th March 2007 - 15th April 2007
It shows the marks left by the time that went by since the Spanish Civil War in the faces of those who lived through it in the walls that sheltered or that, on the contrary, were the unwitting accomplices of executions and murder. Belchite, Corbera d’Ebre or Figueres are some of these war scenarios that were miraculously forgotten, that succumbed to time and that are in themselves a true memorial to what has happened and to what we are still nowadays.

Manolo Hugué

13th December 2007 - 4th March 2007
The exhibition, produced together with the Thermalia Museum in Caldes de Montbui, and curated by Montserrat Blanch, presented a total of 164 pieces, including sculptures, paintings, drawings, relieves and jewelry, which were arranged in different field areas. The exhibition presented over 120 of Manolo’s pieces which are part of the collection of the Fundació.
Francesc Abad
The Camp de la Bota

2006
El Camp de la Bota by Francesc Abad (Terrassa, 1944), concentrates on rescuing the forgotten, the fragile nature of memory and building history on the present, based on the critical analysis of a specific case: the execution of 1704 people, between 1939 and 1952, by the Franquist dictatorship, at a place called Camp de la Bota.
