Joan Abelló i Prat

1922 – Born in Mollet del Vallès.
1934 – He takes his first steps in the art world as a self-taught artist. Influenced by Mir.
1941 – He studies at the Baixas academy and the Royal Circle of Artists in Barcelona.
1944 – For 2 years he works in the Pere Pruna studio, who teaches him the mural and engraving technique.
1945 – He learns restoration in the Miracle studio.
1946 – He works in the Carles Pellicer studio for 14 years.
1947 – Member of the Maillol Circle.
1957 – He organizes the Maig Exhibition.
1978 – Member of the Cofrérie des Chevaliers du Tastevin de Bourgogne, France.
1979 – Honorary Member of the International Painting Fund in Barcelona.
Member of the “Academy of Arts and Work”, Parma
1981 – Member of the Academic Society of Education and Encouragement -“Arts-Science-Letters” in Paris.
Member of the National Society of Fine Arts in Paris.
1985 – Member of the Barcelona Condal Rotary Club.
1988 – Member of the Board of the Royal Circle of Artists in Barcelona.
1993 – President of the Royal Circle of Artists in Barcelona.
Ex-officio Patron of the Güell Foundation.
1996 – He donates his art collection to Mollet del Vallès.
Founder-Director of the Joan Abelló Municipal Foundation.
1997 – Re-elected as president of the Royal Circle of Artists in Barcelona.
Gold medal from the town of Mollet of Vallès.
2001 – Fellow-elect of the Sant Jordi Royal Catalan Academy of Fine Arts.
2002 – Awarded the diploma and decoration as a fellow of the Sant Jordi Royal Academy of Fine Arts.
The Autonomous Government of Catalonia awards him the Sant Jordi Cross.
